Quality Control Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop and track measures for quality
  • Supervise inspectors; manage quality control personnel
  • Develop and manage continuous improvement activities for quality functions
  • Lead efforts for certifications, audits, trainings and evaluations
  • Develop and implement staffing plans for quality control functions
  • Manage corrective actions and associated documentation
  • Manage quality manual, quality procedures, and associated documentation
  • Track revisions of drawings and develop means for identifying possible change orders
  • Develop and perform quality-specific training for fitters, welders, inspectors, and painters
  • Track non-conformances throughout the plant
  • Track and report quality costs and error costs
  • Recommend changes to detailing standards to reduce errors and revisions
  • Attend project kick-off meetings to understand quality requirements
  • Provide support on quality issues to satellite offices
  • Perform inspections (dimensional, visual weld, dry film thickness, etc.)

Quality Control Manager Qualifications

  • BA
  • 10 years plus experience
