Job Description

 

The Senior Research Scientist will be responsible for the development, design, and improvement of innovative and specialized product formulations that meet the overall strategic goals of the CMC Professional and Consumer Disinfection businesses. This is a highly technical role, requiring knowledge of chemical formulation development, project leadership, and a firm foundation in chemistry and an understanding of microbiology and test methods applicable to Professional and Consumer Disinfection markets. The individual carries out the practical work in the laboratory including planning of the project work, experimental design, and technical assessment of results.

  • Define, research, and develop new formulations and products, utilizing industry and customer knowledge to ensure the R&D pipeline is aligned with commercial priorities.
  • Provide design of experiment (DOE) and testing programs in proof-of-concept and innovation research projects, ensuring consistency in the operation of laboratory studies and practices performed by junior lab scientists.
  • Coordinate with other departments, according to good project management principles, to ensure internal and external laboratory deliverables are on time, on budget, and on specification.
  • Lead key project initiatives and manage projects through critical milestones in the stage gate process via coordination with other departments, according to good project management principles, to ensure internal and external laboratory deliverables are on time, on budget, and on specification.
  • Ensure a steady stream of product innovations and balances both long-term strategic and shorter term tactical needs. Work with R&D management to develop and implement new methods/best practices for new products and applications.
  • Maintain a highly visible professional profile for Arxada through active participation in industry organizations, technical societies and customer interaction. Attend and participate at appropriate national / international meetings and trade shows. Participate in a product launches / promotions as appropriate.
  • Prepare detailed technical assessments and reports for documenting and communicating key technology developments, discoveries, and methods. Ensure invention records are prepared and filed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports and evaluations on data obtained from experiments and, if necessary, orally present observations, conclusions and recommendations
  • Ensures reasonable maintenance of the workplace (lab, etc.).
  • Sharing-Best-Practices for techniques and equipment. Work cooperatively with internal and external teams, provide schedule flexibility as directed, weekend work if necessary. May train new employees on laboratory methods and practices.
  • Observer strict confidentiality of all company records and information.
  • Business Travel : Business related travel of approximately 0 - 10% will be required.
